The Whitehall property was acquired by Southern Pines in 2020 to protect it from development, as well as to provide recreational opportunities for the community. On the property is a mature Long Leaf Pine Forest that is being managed to provide key habitat for a variety of endangered or threatened species, including the Red-Cockaded Woodpecker that is nesting in this area.
There is currently a 2-mile walking trail on the property, and this master plan is underway to identify what other activities would be appropriate on the property, while still ensuring these sensitive areas are protected. This survey is prepared to help determine what types of activities the local citizens would be interested in having on this unique property.

The Parks Department of Southern Pines is awarding the following prizes to three individuals who complete the survey.
If you win, Southern Pines will contact you with details on how to claim your prize.
Southern Pines will e-mail all survey participants periodically throughout this project to inform you of the progress and further opportunities for involvement.
Thank You for engaging in your community and sharing your voice to help bring Whitehall to life!
